Gold Coast | Black Coffee Lyrics

Right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, in the upper level of an old school shopping arcade is Black Coffee Lyrics.  As the name suggests there’s great coffee and great sounds.  They also make yummy food.  But I don’t really care about that.  I’m in it for the exquisite cocktails.  As a local, I’ve made it a mission to try all the cocktails on their menu.  One day at a time.  My favourite {at least until I taste something new} is ‘Botanical Gardens’.  Like many of their cocktails there’s a really lovely blend of alcohol and herbals.  And I don’t recall ever even seeing a cream soaked concoction in sight.

Tasmania | Sullivan’s Cove Whisky

Did you know that between 1838 and 1991 it was illegal to distill whisky in Tassie?  They’ve come a long long way since then, and this year, Sullivan’s Cove Whisky was named ‘World’s Best Single Malt’ at the World Whisky awards.  Apparently it’s something to do with the water in Tassie. Sullivan’s Cove Single Malt Whisky is available online and at some local suppliers.  Why not order a bottle, then sit back and enjoy a gentle sip or two while holidaying at Wyndham Seven Mile Beach.

Melbourne | Loch and Key

Full Disclosure – nobody on the Wandrful team have visited this mysterious establishment just yet.  But we’re seriously intrigued.  With cocktails named ‘Black Magic Woman ‘ and an ingredients list that includes ‘orange blossom water’ and ‘sweetened milk’  I’m feeling thirsty just reading about it!  Along with the special secret entrance after 10pm it strikes us as the kind of place that you would totally love to discover on your Melbourne holiday.  We can’t wait to open our new resort in the heart of the CBD – Wyndham on William.  We’ll check it out then! Perth | Bob’s Bar

And when they say Bob, they mean none other than Mr Hawke, Australia’s 3rd longest serving Prime Minister.  Love him or loathe him, the atmosphere at Bob’s Bar is true to the spirit of the man and lends itself to relaxation and the enjoyment of a good drink.  Distinctly Australian.  And Bob himself has been known to turn up too!

Sydney | Palmer & Co.

A speak easy style bar – underground and all the staff dress in 1920′s style.  What we really love is the care and attention they take in their chosen craft – making amazing cocktails.  They really want you to revel in the cocktail experience.  From the quality of ingredients to the smell of the cocktail.  Case in point.  Apparently lime quality is below par between September and November, so they’ve instituted #limeprohibition.

Fiji | Cloud 9
We drift off into a dream when we think about Cloud 9.  So we’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.  Let’s just say a bar and pizzeria in the middle of crystal blue waters is a pretty special place to enjoy a drink – AND, you can bring the kids too (if you want).
C95
Cloud 9 is about 2 hours of leisurely sailing from Denarau Island.

Brisbane | Up

View the bustle and excitement of Fortitude Valley from your relaxing lounge on the rooftop.  Share one of their signature cocktails with your bestie {designed to be shared – we recommend the ‘Ciroc Grand Cru’}.

Quite conveniently, Up is on the rooftop of Tryp Fortitude Valley Hotel – a pretty awesome, brand new, street art themed Hotel.
