Favourite Five: Travel Must-Haves

Once upon a time, travelling meant long, boring car trips – or at best, hanging around airports waiting for a connecting flight to your destination. Thanks to advances in technology, travelling is now a much more enjoyable experience with many direct flights to a huge range of destinations, both domestically and internationally.

With a few gadgets and necessities, travelling can now even be a pleasant experience! We’ve compiled a list of our favourite five travel must-haves to make your next journey a joy.

1. Large Scarf or Light Pashmina

Even if you’re travelling to/from a temperate climate, a scarf or pashmina is an absolute must on a flight. The crazy cabin temperature can get pretty chilly at times, and a big scarf or pashmina will serve double duty as a blanket to keep you warm while onboard.

2. Tablet

No, not the medicinal kind, the technological kind! A tablet such as an Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy will serve many functions, keeping you entertained for the duration of your journey. Watch movies, catch up on your emails, surf the web, or even read a book!

3. Portable Power Bank

There’s nothing worse than your phone or tablet running out of power mid-journey. That’s why we never leave home without a portable power bank! These nifty inventions mean you can recharge your device without having to find a power point and are small enough to fit in your pocket!

4. Noise Cancelling Headphones

Whilst traditional headphones work by cranking up the volume to block out external noise, noise cancelling headphones work to isolate and eliminate unwanted sounds, meaning you can listen to music or watch your movie at a much lower volume. The Rolls Royce of noise cancelling headphones are made by Bose, which work so well that some people put them on sans music, just to get some peace and quiet!

5. Paw Paw Ointment

This all-rounder can be used in so many different ways, it is absolutely indispensable. From sunburn and chapped lips to cuts and rashes, its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties make it the ultimate first aid balm. It’s even great for dry elbows and knees on those long haul flights.
