With my anniversary coming up, I wanted to plan something special, and as an Owner Education consultant at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, I thought I would look no further than our Associate Resort – TRYP Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. I have heard great stories from our Owners, so I thought it was time to book a stay and see what all the fuss was about, and I was blown away!
TRYP Fortitude Valley, Brisbane is a hotel available within the Associate Resorts program which is accessible to all Owners from Premier, right through to Privileges Platinum 100 Club members. The booking windows are;
- Premier Owners – 3 months

- Privileges Diamond – 14 months
- Privileges Platinum – 14 months
- Privileges Platinum 100 Club – 14 months
TRYP is nestled in the heart of Fortitude Valley, which is the heart and soul of Brisbane city, on Constance Street. It is within walking distance to everything you may need; including restaurants, bars, nightlife, shopping, and transport (the train station is under 10 minutes away).
My partner and I packed an overnight bag and hopped in the car, driving from the Gold Coast. It was an easy 45 minutes’ drive with no traffic which was a fantastic start to the trip.
When we pulled up the car at the front of the hotel, we noticed that the car park is easily accessible as it is right next to the hotel. Once we parked the car, the friendly staff greeted us at reception with a smile. They couldn’t be more helpful! Mark walked us up to our King Spa Terrace room and showed us the hotel and room features (which were astounding!)
We upgraded to the King Spa Terrace room, which has a huge top of the range spa on the balcony, complete with faux grass, a couch and table area and a TV in the wall to watch movies while relaxing in the spa. I was blown away with how stunning the room and balcony looked right from the first glance. The room itself had great features; it was very artistic with amazing prints on the walls in the room, bathroom and hanging in the frames on the walls. My partner loved the modern coffee machine with free coffee pods, and the selection from the mini bar was plentiful and reasonably priced. The bathroom amenities including shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and amenity packs were wonderful and the gels smelt divine.
The TV inside the room was massive (the photo I took really doesn’t do it justice), docked on the wall in front of the huge king bed (which gave us the comfiest night sleep we had had in a long time with the cloud like pillows and blanket!) and we had free unlimited movies which – along with our complimentary bottle of wine – set us up for a great movie night with lots of new release movies to choose from.
Walking into the bathroom felt like we were walking into a multi-million dollar apartment with the white subway tiles and black tapware, the stunning hand blown glass graffiti basin and who could miss the phenomenal waterfall shower! They really have thought of everything to make your stay completely comfortable and relaxed while having the best of the best in amenities and features.
Once we had checked in and “checked out” our room, we had lunch at Chur which is located on the ground floor next to reception. The food and service were marvellous, and they are fully licenced so you can enjoy a wine, beer or spirit with lunch. The restaurant itself had a great set up which included a tree feature and the meaning of “Chur” on the wall, it even had a space invaders game to play for free with a bonus – if you beat one of the staff at the game, you get a free beer! Even the bathroom was decoratively stylish and modern with beautiful soaps which left my hands smelling like a day spa!
The rooftop bar Up on Constance was lovely; it had stunning views and ambience. They make their cocktails fresh in front of you; it’s like a show watching the experts at work to make your favourite drink! The staff were very professional and extremely friendly and accommodating. The seating was comfortable on lounge style chairs or high tables, so there is something for everyone. We didn’t eat there, but they have a tapas style menu if you want to grab a bite to eat while you enjoy your cocktail and of course, the view from the rooftop!
After our cocktail at Up on Constance, we walked outside and across the road to New York Pizza (you can see it in the photo of the view from the balcony – it was so close!) where we shared an 18″ Hawaiian pizza which tasted like we were in the heart of New York – it was absolutely massive, but we managed to finish off the whole thing leaving only the huge wooden board on the table – it was delicious! We also treated ourselves to another cocktail with dinner as the pizzeria was licenced (like most restaurants and eateries in Fortitude Valley).
We enjoyed a 12pm late checkout but left the hotel around 10:30am where we wandered down to James Street, which has an abundance of shops and restaurant options to choose from. James Street was a relaxed 5 minute stroll from TRYP.
We enjoyed a late breakfast at Harvey’s Bar and Bistro before heading back to TRYP to collect our car and reluctantly head home. We both wished we were staying for more than one night after such an amazing experience with staff, accommodation and the fantastic restaurants and surrounds of the hotel. We are counting down the days until we can book another TRYP and this time we will go for a few more nights and indulge in all the hotel and Fortitude Valley has to offer.
So, if you are wanting a weekend away for an anniversary, birthday, or even need a place for a business meeting, TRYP in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane is perfect for everyone!
