As an Owner and staff member here at Wyndham I am inspired all the time to take holidays. I always think I’ll have time to go and see all the places that are local to me in years to come and so I think “big” and plan extravagant adventures overseas.
However I am now choosing to explore some areas closer to my own backyard. Starting with the Sunshine Coast in QLD where we have two WorldMark South Pacific Club Resorts to choose from.
Sunshine Coast Hinterland
Commonly, the Sunshine Coast is considered a place to relax by the beach and spend days exploring the towns and attractions close to the coastline. You shouldn’t miss out on visiting the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland though, which is not much more than an hour north of Brisbane and only 30 minutes – 1 hour from some of the Sunshine Coast major coastal towns.
The charming towns and villages of Maleny, Montville and Glasshouse (just to name a few) are must see destinations offering true village charms, set amongst beautiful scenery of rainforests, National Parks, and mountain views.
Every Saturday from 7am – 2pm and every Wednesday from 8am – 1.30pm the Eumundi Markets will open rain, hail or shine.
Whether your interests are food, original artwork and sculptures, furniture and homewares or maybe jewellery, clothing and skincare you will find it at Eumundi Markets.
Only 40 minutes’- drive from Caloundra and 30 minutes from Marcoola Beach, the Eumundi Markets make for a great day out for everyone.
Give yourself a full day in order to fully experience Australia Zoo. With plenty of wildlife shows – including crocodiles being fed! – Your day will be packed with adventure and stacks of fun.
Only 25 minutes from Caloundra and 35 minutes from Marcoola Beach Australia Zoo is not only home of The Crocodile Hunter but is home to some of the world’s most unique and amazing wildlife.
Underwater World – Mooloolaba
Situated at Mooloolaba Wharf, just minutes from the main esplanade, Underwater World Sea Life is home to thousands of animals from under the sea. With daily shows and presentations, the option to swim with sharks or simply walk through the many themed zones there is something for everyone.
Mooloolaba itself is a beautiful coastal community only 15 minutes north of Marcoola Beach and 30 minutes from Caloundra.
Adventure Lovers -
Thrilling rides and attractions offering fun for the whole family, Aussie World Theme Park is only 15 minutes from Caloundra and 30 minutes from Marcoola Beach.
With Australia’s largest commercial go-kart track capable of running up to 50 go-karts at one time, this 1.2km track is able to cater for all members of the family with a track for kids and tracks for those a little more adventurous!
A beautiful experience not to be missed between the months of June and September come and see these magnificent creatures make their way north in the pursuit of warmer waters and in October see them head back again. Take an exciting adventure with tours operating from Caloundra and Mooloolaba.

Being an Owner of WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham we have two resorts on the Sunshine Coast to choose from to stay at. Both are very popular resorts and both are in fantastic locations.
1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive north of Brisbane, Golden Beach is a suburb of Caloundra.
WorldMark Resort Golden Beach is one of the Club’s most popular family holiday destinations offering magnificent beaches, plentiful shopping and a variety of restaurants and cafés including a Thai restaurant onsite.
WorldMark Resort Golden Beach Club has fully equipped and recently refurbished 1 and 2 bedroom apartments most with water views of the Pumicestone Passage.
With a heated Swimming Pool with kids waterslide, spa bath & steam room, tennis courts, BBQ area, games room and tour desk just to name a few facilities on offer your resort is a perfect base to explore the Sunshine Coast.
1 hour and 30 minutes’ drive north of Brisbane and just 5 minutes from the Sunshine Coast airport Ramada Marcoola Beach is an absolute beachfront location and is the perfect accommodation choice for a Sunshine Coast holiday or weekend getaway.
Heated pool, children’s wading pool, restaurant and bar, beach access, tour desk and gym your resort at Marcoola Beach really is the ultimate family resort.

I hope I’ve inspired you to take a trip to this beautiful part of Australia, even if just for a weekend to getaway, relax and explore a little piece of our big back yard.
