Karina’s little bit of luxury in Coffs Harbour

Today’s guest blogger  Karina (who also happens to be a Wyndham staff member) shares her recent trip to Coffs Harbour.

Sometimes it’s nice to spend a little extra and spoil yourself and your family with a touch of luxury…

My little family and I did just that during our recent stay at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Coffs Harbour – Treetops, by staying in a luxurious Presidential suite! Complete with a spa bath in the ensuite, electric BBQ on the balcony, Sunbeam Café series kitchen appliances and gorgeous furnishings, we felt so spoilt!

My husband Raul, is a coffee-obsessed Colombian so the espresso coffee machine got a lot of use. For myself, relaxing in the spa bath was the perfect way to unwind – especially after a long day of running after our 15 month old daughter Eliana.

We loved getting back to nature and made the most of the walking and cycling tracks in the area that take you to Charlesworth Bay beach and up to a beautiful  lookout overlooking the coast. beach collageOur trip to Coffs Harbour wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t visit Dolphin Marine Magic. At this small, well known and loved local Marine Park we received VIP treatment without having to pay a VIP price! As a part of our entry ticket, we got up close & personal with seals, dolphins and fairy penguins! Check out my 15 seconds of fame moment when I was called up to feed ‘Zippy’ the dolphin during the Marine Discovery show! And we didn’t dare leave without getting a cheeky seal & dolphin kiss! dolphin collageAlso worth visiting is the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House which is a 20 minute drive from the resort. Not only did we learn lots about butterflies (much more than what I already knew from The Very Hungry Caterpillar book) but they also have a garden maze which was fun to get lost in! butterfly collageAfter filling our tummies with scrumptious fish & chips at The Fisherman’s Co-Op down at the Marina we walked off our large lunch by walking to the top of Muttonbird Island. It’s worthwhile taking the hike up the hill to see the spectacular views of the Solitary Islands and if you’re lucky, you might even get to see some whales frolicking in the distance!

We’ll certainly be back to Coffs Harbour, it has so much to offer and we only skimmed the surface! The only question is … where are we off to next?
